Tour highlights

  • Visit to a lutherie workshop where classical and flamenco guitars are built from scratch.
  • Tour of a contemporary jewelry studio with artisan design and production.
  • Direct explanation of techniques, tools, and materials in both spaces.
  • Personal encounters with artisans who work with wood, metal, and precious stones.
  • Tour through lesser-known neighborhoods of Barcelona, outside the traditional tourist circuit.

Discover the soul of the city through those who still create with their hands. Three workshops, three crafts, an experience you won't find in any guidebook.

1. Lutherie Workshop: Handmade Guitar Construction

This workshop specializes in the manufacture of classical and flamenco concert guitars. Here, wood is worked with millimetric precision to produce instruments with exceptional sound quality.

Traditional lutherie techniques are used, acquired and perfected in leading workshops in Barcelona and Argentina.

During the visit, you’ll see how the top, neck, back, and sides are assembled, and how the final varnish is applied.

The experience includes a detailed explanation of the entire process, from wood selection to final tuning of the instrument.

It also explores how musical experience influences the construction of each piece, always seeking the best acoustic response.

2. Jewelry Studio: Contemporary Design with Mediterranean Inspiration

In this studio, handmade jewelry pieces are designed and produced, inspired by nature, island life, and Mediterranean aesthetics.

The process combines traditional goldsmithing techniques with a contemporary design approach.

During the visit, different work phases are shown: the initial design, selection of materials (noble metals, natural stones), and manual production. The workshop uses responsibly sourced materials, such as Fairmined-certified gold and silver.

The pieces stand out for their organic shape and balance between formal simplicity and expressive detail. Additionally, collaborations with other artists and internationally recognized collections are presented.

The other side of tourism in Barcelona

Mass tourism in Barcelona has led to the gradual loss of authentic spaces and traditional crafts. Entire neighborhoods have been transformed to fit a fast-consumption model, affecting the local fabric and displacing valuable cultural activities.

This tour was born as an alternative: it invites you to explore quiet areas where craftsmanship is still alive and where workshops continue to operate thanks to direct contact with people interested in real, handmade processes. Supporting these spaces is also a way of protecting the material and creative identity of the city.

The Guide

Diego

Experiences Manager

Diego is passionate about gastronomy and the bar and tapas culture in Spain. With over 17 years of experience working in fine dining restaurants and 5-star hotels around the world, and after living in gastronomically vibrant cities such as San Sebastian, Madrid or London, Diego settled in Barcelona in 2016. From there, he continues to travel every month throughout Spain and Europe to stay updated on the latest culinary trends. In the city, he loves discovering those authentic local places where he can enjoy homemade flavors, chat with the waiter about life and feel at home.

What our customers say

Telmo
